On 25 February 2009 the Translation and Revision Centre carried out an one-day seminar on the subject „Problems in introducing and use of new terms in Bulgarian language in the process of translation of the acquis”.
The event which took place at the EU Information Centre with the obliging assistance of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria, has been organised within the Project „Enhancement of the knowledge and the awareness of the officials from the State administration to work with the European Union legislation” implemented by TRC since 9 July 2008 with the financial support of OPAC, co-financed by the ESF.
In the seminar took part leaders and experts from the working groups at the Council for European Affairs, lecturers from the Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski”, specialists in the field of linguistics, and freelance translators. Official invitations have been sent to the Minister of State Administration and Administrative Reform Mr. Nikolay Vassilev, to the Deputy Ministers: Ms. Maria Divizieva and Ms. Buzhka Lukich, Directors of Directorates at the State Administration and Administrative Reform, as well as to Ms. Zinaida Zlatanova, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria.
The seminar was officially opened by Ms. Inna Slavova, Acting Director of the Translation and Revision Centre and Project Manager. She made the participants and guests of the event acquainted with the main accents of the working process under the project, as well as with the progress in the individual activities by that time.
As lectors on the subject, the following persons have been invited: Senior Staff Scientist Dr. Petya Kostadinova from the Institute of Bulgarian language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Ass. Prof. Dr. Vesela Genova, lecturer at the Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski”, Ms. Rossitsa Vassileva – terminologist at the Bulgarian Translation Department, part of the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission (DGT); and Ms. Zornitsa Alexandrova – terminologist at the Translation and Revision Centre.
